THE DOME


The Dome is the most unique outdoor basketball court in the United States. The Dome is connected to the Madison Square Recreation Center in East Baltimore City. During the summer months, the court hosts three different leagues.

Midnight Madness, with games on Monday and Wednesday nights at
10, 11 and 12 pm. These are the games where the hood stars, homegrown NBA players, college bigshots and street legends come out to show their skills. The tournament boasts a rich tradition of notable players.

Players such as "Skip" Wise, Muggsy Bogues, Reggie Williams, Reggie Lewis and "Big Spoon". There were many other great athletes such as Sam Cassell, Michael Lloyd, Kwame Evans, Donta Bright and Mark Karcher, you've had Baltimore legends such as Shawnta Rogers, "Stink" Morris, Bootsy Thornton and Johnny Helmsley.

The NBA missed out on alot of these street superstars, they had chances to see Kevin Braswell, "Tall Vials", "Get Up" Jones" and Antwon Jennifer. The NBA however, grabbed up athletes such as Carmelo Anthony and Juan Dixon.

The DC All Stars (AKA Chocolate City) includes Steve Francis, Curt Smith, "Wizard" Jones, Lonnie Harrell, Pep Tyson, Mike Gill and Big Mike Smith.
